COMPLETED PROJECTS:

1) Molecular  detection of   clinically diagnosed sickle cell cases and its co-existence with alpha thalassemia in tharu population.

2) Detection   of  beta-globin   gene mutations in beta thalassaemia by ARMS-PCR  in nepalese thalassemic individual.

3) Identification of salmonella typhi in suspected blood specimen by conventional culture, serology and advanced PCR  targeting hila and their antibiogram.

4). ‘‘Genotyping of hepatitis c virus using nested PCR in clinically diagnosed samples in reference nepalese patients.’’

5). Detection of infection in clinically suspected HIV  patients using polymerase chain reaction

6). Prevalence of hepatitis b virus by using Nested-PCR in referred nepalese patients.

7). Investigation of hepatitis c virus (HCV) infection by molecular method   using nested PCR.

8) Case Series of Neuromuscular Diseases in Nepal: Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD)

9) Distribution of TEM, SHV and CTX-M genes among extended spectrum β- lactamase producing clinical isolate of escherichia coli and  klebsiella pneumonia in tertiary care hospital. (research grant awarded by Nepal Health  Research Council, Nepal, 2014

10) Nepal Pediatric Ocular Diseases Study (NPODS): A Nested Case Control Study.  ( In collaborations with Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology, Nepal).

11) Optimization and study of MTHFR gene in recurrent Pregnancy Loss.

12) Examination of parasites in the stool samples of Red Panda from various districts of Nepal.

13) Diagnosis of   Entamoeba hystolytica , E.dispar and E. Moshkovskii  in stool sample in rural community of Nepal.

14) Study of  Vaginal Candidiasis and Bacterial Vaginosis in the reproductive age group in the reference sample.

ONGOING PROJECTS:

1) “Role of Gonadotrophin in Cytoarchitectural Changes in Brain” specially focusing on Dopaminergic System. ( Return Home Fellowship , International Brain Research organisation. (IBRO-RHP award)

2) Prevalence and antibiogram of hypervirulent Klebsiella pneumonia from different clinical specimens.

3) Prevalence and antibiogram of collistin resistance E.Coli and Klebsilella pneumonia.

4) Antibiogram and comparision of biofilm growing MSSA and MRSA from different clinical specimens.

5) Antifungal Susceptibility test and biofilm prodicung  Candida albican  and non Candidia albican from different clinical  specimens


FUTURE PROJECTS:

1) Sickle cell anemia and its co-existence with alpha and beta thalassemia in a cohort of indigenous Tharu population of Nepal: Implication for the South Asian Region.(Institute of South Asian Studies – Research Grant)

2) Distribution and comparison of Human Papilloma Virus Genotype in Cervical Cancer in Three Different Ecological Region of Nepal (Provisional Research Grant- 2017 awarded by Nepal Health Research Council, NHRC)
